On one occasion I raised something serious in the session. This was something of which you have personal experience. You asked me if I would like you to step outside of your coaching role in order to provide advice from your own personal experience. I’m so glad that you did this. The advice was exactly what I needed at that point because of the nature of the situation. I don’t think you would often do this. In retrospect I think it added to the feeling of trust – knowing that your coaching sessions are a safe space for sharing, and that client welfare is at the heart of what you do.
