You chose this work because it mattered. But somewhere between the demands, the decisions and the relentless pace of NHS services, it can start to feel like you have lost yourself in it. Whether you work in general practice, secondary care, or anywhere across the UK health and care workforce, you deserve dedicated support too.
I am Lynn, a coach with deep expertise in healthcare, a PhD in healthcare communication and over 30 years as a registered nurse, specialising in cancer care. I understand the culture you work in, the challenges that don’t show up in job descriptions and the particular weight of caring for patients while quietly neglecting yourself.
Coaching with me is a confidential and personal space. It is completely separate from your workplace and your clinical world. It is just for you.
One of my clients, a senior healthcare professional, put it this way:
“Coaching enabled me to untangle my thoughts and make changes in several areas. I clarified whether to take on extra employment, stopped work spilling into my non-working days, and even found a better way to communicate with someone during conflict. It also gave me confidence to be a better manager and to think about how I present myself in interviews.”

Many people are unsure of the difference. It is worth being clear.
My role is not to fix you, but to enable you to access the clarity, confidence, awareness and resilience that is already there.
Coaching is also not mentoring or clinical supervision, though I can bring elements of that in where it helps, if we both agree. Rather than offer ready-made solutions, coaching is about actively listening and asking questions based on what you have said. This is important because lasting behaviour change tends to come from within.
Counselling helps you understand where you have been. Coaching helps you decide where you are going.

Health and care professionals come to me for all kinds of reasons:
As another client said:
From our very first session, Lynn created a truly trusting and supportive environment. The positive changes I have experienced have been evident in both my professional and personal life. I only wish I had found her sooner.

Through focused coaching conversations, we build on your existing strengths and develop practical, powerful tools for lasting change:
Coaching isn’t about giving generic advice. Every conversation is tailored and driven by you and your goals. However, coaching conversations can include mentoring if that is appropriate to help you build resilience and have better outcomes.
One client told me:
Lynn is very good at listening without interrupting. Sometimes I already have the answer, but the questions she asks help me to see it clearly. She approaches every session from a neutral, caring perspective and that comes through in everything she does.

My coaching experience is grounded in real clinical, academic and training life. With extensive experience in healthcare, teaching and healthcare education (particularly communication skills training) I bring a coaching style that blends evidence-based practice with genuine empathy.
I qualified as an associate coach with Optimus, which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation. Unlike coaches who come from a purely corporate background, I bring lived professional experience of the NHS, including the responsibility, the pressure and the rewards.
Whether you are an experienced leader looking to develop your strategy and focus, or someone earlier in your career building confidence and key skills, coaching can help you achieve the outcomes you are working towards.
