I am delighted to share that I have successfully completed an Associate Level Coaching Course, rooted in psychology, with Optimus Coaching. This style of coaching takes on a holistic approach. This marks a significant milestone in my professional journey as I continue to expand the ways I support individuals and teams within healthcare and related fields.
As I work towards completing my 100 hours of professional coaching to apply for accreditation with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I am already offering coaching sessions that draw on my years of experience, training and deep understanding of the healthcare landscape.
With a background in supporting and training healthcare professionals and administrative personnel, coaching felt like a natural next step. It is another way to extend and deepen the impact of my work. My coaching style is practical, compassionate and forward focused. I help clients navigate leadership, transitions, communication challenges, wellbeing and personal growth with greater clarity and confidence. This sounds like a lot I know, but as mentioned I take an holistic approach to coaching and work related and personal challenges, big or small can have a direct impact on each other. It can sometimes be hard to separate the two.
Clients often come to coaching feeling overwhelmed, stretched, uncertain about their next steps or aggrieved with a situation. Sometimes they may just want to talk through a personal challenge they are facing; for example getting to the gym, dealing with a divorce, not liking their current job and wondering what to do next.
Through structured, confidential conversations, we work together to move from ‘stuck’ to ‘clear’ and from ‘surviving’ to ‘thriving’.
I coach healthcare professionals, managers, leaders facing a range of challenges including:
Each coaching session is entirely client-led. Clients bring their own agenda, whether this is personal, professional or a blend of both. As a coach we don’t offer solutions but asking probing questions to help people to find the answers within themselves. Those answers are more meaningful and likely to bring about change or new personal insights.
I have been working with Lynn for a few months now and can honestly say it has been transformative. She created a truly trusting and supportive environment. The positive changes have been evident in both my professional and personal life. I only wish I had found her sooner!
Client (Lawyer, 2025)
I apply the skills I learned with Optimus, and use a psychology-based coaching model grounded in growth and reflection. We explore:
If clients are open to it, I may offer optional reflective exercises or tools clients can use between sessions. Some of which may include, values, emotions, strengths and personal vision exercises. But this is always the client’s choice and will only be shared/suggested with permission.
Confidentiality is central to my coaching practice. Sessions are a safe space for open, honest exploration; especially vital in complex, high-pressure settings like healthcare.
Last year, I worked with a charity to offer clinical supervision to a team of clinical nurse specialists who worked in cancer services. Working with this fabulous team of nurses really motivated me to take the next step and work towards coaching accreditation. I know only too well, the pressures healthcare teams face and have also conducted evaluation based research in leadership and managerial positions.
If you are curious to know more about coaching or want to explore how it could support you or your team, feel free to get in touch. I am always happy to have a no-pressure conversation to help you decide if coaching or if I am the right fit for you.
