I love generating knowledge, learning from it and applying it to practice. At Healthcare Communication Matters we offer research expertise based on your individual needs.
Our strength is in qualitative data collection and analysis. I love ethnographic research where you can really immerse yourself in a clinical environment and get a real feel for what is going on. We have skills in:
- Semi-structured interviewing
- Observational work (I am so nosey!)
- Focus groups
- Developing surveys
Our research experience has particularly focused on:
- healthcare communication and information exchange
- Consultation support tool
- experiential learning
- reflective practice and
- Offering constructive feedback
Other research includes, trying to understand the early symptoms of oesophageal cancer, exploring women’s experiences of miscarriage in early pregnancy assessment units and understanding women’s experiences of breast cancer screening in BAME populations, patients experiences of using support groups on facebook to share information. We have worked with or consulted with senior clinicians and Professors, Public Health England and Cancer Research UK.
