Effective communication in healthcare is crucial for building trust and rapport with patients, members of the public and with colleagues.
We know only too well on our advanced communication skills course, that healthcare professionals face a lot of challenges in relation to communication. This is not surprising when very few have had any form of communication skills training (or at least very little).
In this sense, we help individuals to develop and practice communication skills in a safe environment online. Typically, we will look at something that has happened or an area of your practice you want to improve (in relation to communication). We will then look at ways to support you in this endeavour. Our aim is to facilitate a process of self-discovery and we will look at communication skills and strategies that might help you move forwards.
It is not our intention to drive the agenda, but to support you in terms of addressing your agenda. It is not our intention to offer counselling, but we will help you identify barriers to success and consider ways of overcoming them.
Furthermore, one to one support might, be relevant to you, if you just want to learn a better technique to communicate in a particular situation. It might also be valuable to you if you have previously attended an advanced communication skills course and you want a follow up session to help you consolidate your learning.
You may only need one or two sessions to help you achieve your goals. We don’t anticipate this being a long standing need.
